Apr. 13, 2015

Well, talk about a great week with a dramatic ending! So, I am no longer in the Canary Islands, I am now in an area called Leganés, just South of Madrid. It´s really warm here and I really like it. My companions name is Hermana Welker and she is from Utah!!

This week  we were doing a lot of work with our area book and having a lot of success contacting. We had a miracle on Thursday, there is a girls that has been coming to english classes on and off for a really long time. Hermana Larsen (The matrimonio) was praying that she could have an opportunity to ask her if she wants to meet with the missionaries because this girl really likes hermana Larsen and always talks to her. Anyways we had the perfect opportunity on thursday and she came to church on Sunday! She´s really great.

This Sunday was a hard day as I had to say goodbye to all of my friends and my great companion is Las Palmas. I know I´m where    the Lords needs me to be and I know I´ll have success here.

I´ve been reading in 3rd Nephi just before Christ comes to visit the Americas. During this times there was a prophet/missionary Nephi that worked a ton of miracles because of his faith. I want to be like him. Miracles are possible!

I am so excited to get to know my new area!

So this week I was priviledged to watch all four general conference sessions. They are live here at the hours of 5-7pm and 9-11pm so we had special permission to stay out late and watch all of the sessions. It was a great experience and I was very lucky to watch them in a separate room with the other missionaries in english.

I really enjoyed President Monson´s talk about temples. I love th etemple and the spirit there. I look forward to going when I will have the opportunity. I also liked elder Bednar´s about fear. It´s true that through Christ we can conquer all fear. Also I really loved Elder Andersen´s comment about peculiar dancers... so true. I also loved Elder Nelson´s talk about the Sabbath day, it´s such a small commandment that is of eternal importance!

My companion Hermana Rossberg and I have been having so much fun this week it´s ridiculous. Let´s just say that when you take away an hour of our sleep you should be concerned....

This week was semana santa, a week when everything is closed because they are remembering about Jesus Christ. So we had a lot success contacting but not a lot of people wanted to meet, that´s okay though. We´ll get them this week!

I had a really cool lesson with some very special new investigators this week. They are so prepared it´s crazy. The Lord is definitely in this work!

Well it´s the last week of the transfer.. will I stay or will I got is  the ultimate question. I will do as the Lord wishes. I loe you all, happy post easter, keep that spirit with you this week!

Well, it´s been a great and REALLY warm week here in Las Palmas! It´s so sunny today! I love it!

One of the great things that happened just this Saturday was the release of the new Easter movie that´s called "because He Lives" in english I think... #spanishspeakingmissionproblems Anyways we were able to show it while our convert was getting changed after his baptism last Saturday. It brought the spirit for all that were there. I encourage you all to take 3 minutes to watch it at mormon.org/easter

This week we received many miracles and tender mercies of the Lord. We were able to be in the right place at the right time to meet a member´s sister and begin teaching her about the gospel, she´s really great and has a lot of potential. We´re excited to work with her.  We also had a last minute cancellation and were able to teach another member´s mother who works a lot and takes care of her elderly mother, it was a great lesson and a blessing.

Well I guess I should right about the best part of my week. This week I was able to see my friend Manuel get baptised. I met him with Hermana Trone in January and he has been meeting with us and learning ever since. He has made great changes and is a very different person now than he was the first time I met him. It was a very spiritual service and I am very grateful for the opportunity I had to be a part of his conversion. I am grateful to see how happy the gospel has made him.

I am grateful for my companion Hermana Rossberg, she´s one power house of a missionary! I am grateful for Jesus Christ, I know He lives and loves us. I know I am imperfect but through Him I can be made perfect. I´m grateful for the hope I have in my life because of the gospel.

Happy Easter (Semana Santa)

This is Manuel, we found him on the street in January, he is a wonderful man and has changed a lot for the better with the gospel in his  life. I am grateful that I was a part of his baptism.
